Gerrettie, Joe Age 55, passed away at home, January 12, 2013, in the arms of his adoring wife, surrounded by family. He is survived by his best friend, soulmate, buddy and wife, Sandy (Osterland); son, David of Joliet; daughters, Becki (Rich) Cherivtch of Surprise, AZ, Niki (Mike) Georgopoulos of Waddell, AZ, and Mallory of Joliet; grandchildren, Kylie, Gracie, Macie and Gavin; in-laws, Bernie and Ruthanne Osterland of Joliet; brothers, Jim, Jack and John all of AZ; and faithful companions Jack, Bailey and Teeni. Preceded in death by his parents, Jim and June Gerrettie, and fishing buddy Sox. Joe worked over 20 years for the city of Joliet as a Police Officer. He and his wife owned Heavenly Sinful Boutique in Shorewood and HS Healing and Wellness Center in Joliet. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, swimming in his pool, listening to music, grilling, and just being with family, friends, grandkids and puppies. The family would like to thank Dr. RK Natesh, Christina Repka, Chris Besler, Dr. Pundaleeka, friends: Sara, John, Bobbi, Deb, Sandy, Kent, Jim S., Coz, Jim L., Dave S, Jay, Sharon, Mark, Anne, Kristine, Deanna, Tim, Tracy, James Repka and everyone for their love, support, strength and encouragement. Joe simply loved his family, friends and God. RIP Officer 129. A celebration of Joe's life will be held, Wednesday January 23, 2013 at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home, from 3-7 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m. with Father Vytas Memenas, Chaplain of the Will County Sheriff's Department and Deacon John Freund, a family friend officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials to help start the Joe and Sandy Gerrettie Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
