Rowley Sr., John E. Age 90, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 28, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born in Joliet and was a lifelong Joliet-Lockport area resident. Retired in 1981 from Texaco, Inc. after 30 years of service. A life member of Lockport VFW Post #5788 and former member of DAV Joliet Chapter 110. A WW II Army Veteran serving with the 464th Amphibious Truck Company in the Pacific Theater, receiving the Bronze Star. John was a longtime Lockport Porter basketball fan and Band booster. Preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Davis) in 1997; his parents, Leonard and Edith (Boyd); a brother, George and sisters, Lucille (Charles) Covey and Lucinda (Arthur) Alling. Survived by his three loving sons, John Jr. (Juanita) of FL, Bob (Pam) of Poplar Grove and Leonard (Jodie) of Joliet; his loving daughter, Karen (Charles) Bednarczyk of MN; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
