Linley T. Dougherty Sr.

Dougherty Sr., Linley T. "Duke" Age 89, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 with his family close by. Born and raised in Joliet, IL. A graduate of Joliet Township High School, DeVry and Greer Institute. A WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He founded several businesses, most notably "Dougherty's Dairy Products" and was known in the community as "The Milkman". Preceded in death by his father, Timothy Dougherty; his mother, Hazel Ingram; brother, Robert Dougherty, Sr.; daughter Marilyn Johnson; two grandsons, Karl Dougherty, and Rodney McCormick and; one granddaughter, Angel French. Survived by his beloved children; Lynda McCormick of Phillips Ranch, California; Hazel Jones of Midland, Michigan; Suzzonne (Stan) Wilkerson of Crete, Illinois; Linley Dougherty, Jr. (Starla) of Chino Hills, California; Ida Mose`, Roslyn (Frank) Brady; Tonya (Kevin) French, and Donovan Shelby, all of Joliet, Illinois; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He also leaves behind his brother, William "Billy" Dougherty of Robbins, Illinois, and a sister, Adele Rogers of Minneapolis, Minnesota and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Minor-Morris Funeral Home, 112 Richards St., Joliet, IL on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. and visitation Tuesday, August 27, 2013 10:00 A.M. at Second Baptist Church, 156 S. Joliet St., Joliet, IL. Service at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Larry V. Tyler, officiating. Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery. Minor-Morris Funeral Home 112 Richards St. (815) 723-1283.
