Koppen, Sharon Zan Heaven needed another Angel, so God called his servant-child, Sharon Zan Koppen, of Joliet, home suddenly on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Age 69. Survived by her beloved husband, Larry Louis Koppen; loving mother, Dora Jean Zan; two sons, Christopher (Jean) of Alexandria, VA, Andrew (Christine) of Lakeland, MN; two granddaughters, Alanna and Grace K.; two uncles, Joe Zan and Louis "Skip" (Lorraine) Stark; an aunt, Betty Kildahl. Preceded in death by her father, Stephen Zan and a brother, Stephen Jon Zan. Sharon deeply loved her extended family and the many in her Christian family from Wisconsin, Illinois and Texas. She was devoted to serving others as a blessed member of First Assembly of God Church, and also as an active volunteer at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Graduate of Joliet Township High School and a member of the National Honor Society. Previously employed by General Electric in Rockdale, Argonne National Laboratory, raised her two sons as a devoted stay-at-home mother and retired from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Lying in state at the First Assembly of God Church, 1741 Essington Road, on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Memorials to the Royal Family Kids Camp c/o First Assembly of God Church, Joliet or Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 PM.
