George R. Curry Obituary
Curry, George R. Of Plainfield, passed away at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Age 74 years. Survived by his wife of 38 years, Dorothy A. Curry (nee Wenzel); four daughters, Kelly (Douglas) Gossen, Victoria (Ruel) Ico, Michele Curry Olson and Theresa Curry; a son, Michael (Maricar) Curry; eight grandchildren, Kristen (Adam Graf, fiancé), Karla, Kara and Kathleen Gossen, Amanda and Andrew Ico, Alexander and Brooke Olson; his sister, Katherine Jack and his brother, Robert (Shirley) Curry; also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Emily Curry; his brother, William Curry and his sister, Patricia Curry. George was born December 24, 1938 in Springfield, IL. He retired in 2003 from Ryerson Steel Co. in Chicago. George enjoyed coaching football, baseball and softball for his children and also gardening, fishing, bowling, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Sunday, December 22 at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Peter Holmer officiating. Private interment will be held. Memorials to the or Kidney Foundation will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m.
