Wilson, Gerald "Jerry" Age 86, of Channahon, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Presence St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet. He is survived by his wife Alice Wilson (nee Drout); one daughter, Valerie (Rodney) Boyce of Texas; one step-daughter, Carol Allison of Joliet; one step-son-in-law, John Coldwater, Sr. of Elwood; three grandchildren, Kimberly Schmidt, Kristin Schmidt, and Matthew Boyce; four step-grandchildren, Jeff Chelini, Allison Stipanovich, John (Julie) Coldwater Jr., Angela (Jason) Mabry; two great-grandsons, Julian and Alex; six step-great-grandchildren, Lexus, Andrew, Austin, Samantha, Daniel, and Gavin; three brothers, Richard (Barbara), Robert (Marie), Paul (Karola); one sister, Beverly Harcharik; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Hallie Wilson; his first wife, Lieselotte Maria Wilson (nee Elm); one son, Gregory H.; one step-daughter-in-law, Sharon Coldwater; one step-great grandson, Myles Stipanovich; two brothers and five sisters. Gerald served in the U.S. Army for five years in WWII and Korea and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor. Retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1990 as a quality control inspector. Jerry was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need, he had excellent work ethics, enjoyed a challenging crossword puzzle and loved spending time with his family. Funeral service for Gerald Wilson will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10:30A.M. at Forsythe Funeral Home with Pastor Hess of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Joliet officiating.
