Obituary Condolences

Valade, Mark N. Age 63. Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 24, 1949 in Blue Island to Louis and Gouinevere (nee Davis) Valade, he was a lifelong Joliet area resident. He attended St. Jude Catholic School in Marycrest and was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1968. In June 1968 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps with his friend, Pete McKanna. He served in Vietnam from December 1968 to December 1969 with the First Marine Air Wing Da-Nang and with the 5th Marines at An-Hoa. He also served with the 7th Marines LZ-Baldy (Semper Fi). Mark worked for 30 years with Farmers Insurance. He was a life member of the NRA and the VFW Cantigny Post #367 in Joliet and a member of the American Legion Marne Post #13 in Plainfield and the Marine Corps League. Survived by his loving wife, Marcia; brothers, Kevin (Margie) Valade, Bruce Valade, and Brian Valade; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Joe) Trimble; stepson, Justin (Samantha) Wirth; grandchildren, Alister, Emily and Cole Trimble; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; his best friends, Jim Restaino, Dan Murray, George Mushro, Jay Blessent, Richard Jackson; and his canine companions, Star and Velvet. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tim; uncle, Majeur Davis. Funeral Services for Mark N. Valade will be Monday, November 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Will County Humane Society, 24109 Seil Rd., Shorewood, IL 60404 would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
