Nicholas Priddy Obituary
Priddy, Nicholas H. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Jacksonville, IL the son of the late Ivan and Maxine Priddy. Dearly loved husband of 46 years to Dottie (nee Maedge) Priddy; proud father of Cindy (Mike) Yelich, Lt.Col. Drew (Kirsten) Priddy and Shannon Priddy; treasured grandfather to Michael, Moya, Jack, Mia and Marin; dear brother-in-law of Barbara (Robert) Johnson; fond uncle to Mike (Maddy) Johnson and Sheree Hill; also left to mourn his passing are his cherished extended family members. A proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy, a district Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, Police Officer in Albion, MI, Chief of Police in Union City, MI and Channahon, IL. Nick finished his career as a Teacher and Coach in the Valley View School District. He also enjoyed playing the french horn with the Joliet American Legion Band, was honored to play Taps at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. His love of history was shared as a reenactor with the 36th Illinois Infantry. An outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His commitment to his faith was expressed by his active involvement at the Channahon United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until Services begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Channahon United Methodist Church located at 24751 W. Eames (Rt. 6) Pastor Steve Good officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. For those wishing to leave lasting memorials the family asks that you please consider the Channahon UMC Building Fund.
