Robert Loren Crissup Sr. Obituary
76, of Englewood, FL, passed away Saturday morning, December 14, 2013. He was born in Decatur, IL, on January 2, 1937, raised and educated in Joliet, IL, and a long-time resident of Plainfield, IL. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician during the Korean Conflict and worked at various companies including Fisher Body, CECO Steel, Uniroyal, U.S. Steel, EJ&E and Western Electric. He retired from AT&T in 1996 after 25 years of service. Bob also enjoyed racing in the Mini-Stocks at the Joliet Memorial Stadium. He was a life member of Stone City VFW and Yorkville American Legion. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Elizabeth R. Crissup; four sons, Robert Jr. (Mary), Loren (Janet) and John (Carol) of IL, Joseph (Michelle) of TX; 7 grandchildren, Jamie, Robert and Benjamin Crissup of IL, Heather Crissup of TX and Courtney (Andrew Whitefoot) Crissup in the US Navy, Amber (Shane) Anderson and Meagan Crissup of IL; 5 step-grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, and Jennifer Paulson of TX, Kristen (Bill) Welter and Jennifer Kuklinski of IL; 3 great-grandchildren, Barrett, Connor and Brecken of IL; one step-great-grandchild, Claire of IL; numerous nephews and nieces; one sister, Karen Lefler of IN, and sister-in-law, Helen Banfield of FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren (Red) and Elsie Crissup and several brothers and sisters. Arrangements were made by National Cremation Society and an inurnment with full military honors will be held in May 2014 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
