Eugene L. Kijowski, Sr.|
Eugene L.Kijowski, Sr., age 88, of Lockport, passed away peacefully July 1, 2014 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, after a brief illness. He was born in Lockport and was a lifelong resident.
Employed by Fisher Body for many years as a Tool and Die Maker, retiring in 1988. Eugene was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving during WW II. A life member of Lockport VFW Post #5788 and a member of St. Dennis Church, Lockport. He was a very devoted husband and father.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen (Dziuban) (2011); his parents Michael (1928) and Angela ( Sczyndlar) (1975); three brothers Frank, Walter, and Michael Kijowski; four sisters Mary Berg, Sophie Wall, Helen Finefield and JoAnn Bleuer.
Survived by his one and only devoted son, Eugene Kijowski, Jr. and one cherished sister Ceil Popek. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3rd, 9:30 a.m. from the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel, 1105 E. 9th St. (159th St.), Lockport to St. Dennis Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
Visitation, Wednesday, July 2nd, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
