Kenneth Brammer Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Brammer, 76, of Merino, passed away Jan. 11, 2014, at his home after a lengthy illness that devastated his body, but didn't diminish his sunny personality and humorous outlook on life. At Ken's request, a private family gathering will be held.

Ken was born to Samuel C. and Dorothy Witt Brammer on June 10, 1937, in Sterling. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1955, then joined the U.S. Army, serving with the 3rd Infantry Honor Guard in Washington, D.C., and a year with the 2nd Battalion Combat Team in Iceland.

On May 31, 1960, Ken married Mary Kathryn Sincock. In order to support his family, and his Black Angus herd, he farmed, ranched and was a Moorman Feed Salesman. His hobbies were woodworking and reading.

Ken is survived by his mother, Dorothy Brammer of The Legacy in Sterling; his wife, Kathy of Merino; son, K.C. and Denise Brammer of Haxtun; daughter, Mary Kay and Doug Waitley of Sterling; four grandchildren, Jon Brammer, Tessa Brammer, Cody Waitley, Scott Waitley; three bonus grandchildren; three bonus great-grandchildren; his brother, Jim and Sherrill Brammer of Sterling; his sister, Helen Stanley of Greeley; sister-in-law, Claudia and Jim Leonard of Redmond, Ore.

Ken was preceded in death by his father, Sam Brammer; his in-laws, W.C. and Mabel Sincock; his son, Randall Wayne Brammer; and his daughter-in-law, Melonie Smyth Brammer.

In honor of Ken's memory, a memorial gift may be given to Hospice of the Plains.

Chaney-Reager Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
