Donald Lee Jones, 72, of Colorado Springs, passed away on Nov. 9, 2013 in Colorado Springs. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Central Christian Church, 2002 W. Pikes Peak Ave. in Colorado Springs, with burial to follow at Crystal Valley Cemetery in Manitou Springs.
For 30 years Don worked for Sherwin Williams before spending the last years of his working life with the Manitou Springs School District, a job that he thoroughly enjoyed because it brought him back to the town and the school buildings where he spent his youth and graduated from high school. Recently he enjoyed nothing more than long walks through the Garden of the Gods with Connie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Katherine Jones, and is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Connie; his sons, Kevin of Victorville, Calif., Keith of Henderson, and Mike of Highlands Ranch; and his grandchildren, Nate, Keely, Alexandra, Sarah, Grant, Saylah, Crew, McKenna, Palmer, Mallory, Allison and Emily. He is also survived by siblings, Darold, Patricia, Shirley, Tom, Barbara and Randy.
The family requests donations to Central Christian Church in lieu of flowers.
