Gloria Virginia Stewart, 81, of Sterling, entered into eternal life at home surrounded by family to join her beloved husband Ted on March 18, 2014. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at The Rock Assembly of God Church (formerly Franklin School), on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Columbine Street in Sterling.
She was born May 16, 1932 at St. Benedict's Catholic Hospital to Pete and Mary Lazzeretti (Bettale) of Padroni.
Her house was the one where all the kids played and she was a Mother to many; she lived and instilled strong moral and traditional values. You never left her house hungry or without a kind word of love and encouragement. She drove a school bus, waited tables and was an exceptional homemaker. Known for her great cooking, love of family and bingo, she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her children, Vern Stewart of Johnstown, Mary Stewart and grandson Connor Glover of Sterling, Laura and husband Ed Ferguson of Brighton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
