Julia Ann Gross, 75, of Sterling, passed away Feb. 5, 2013, in Sterling. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with services concluding at the funeral home.
Julia was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Sturgis, S.D., to Walter and Angeline (Heaton) Beardshear.
She worked in the kitchen in the food service industry through the years.
She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and anyone else who needed help.
Julia is survived by her son, Walter Gross of Sterling; daughter, Wanda Whitman and husband Chuck of Padroni; daughter, Wilma Gross of Sterling; daughter-in-law, Tracey Dunn of South Haven, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Helen Gross of Rapid City, S.D.; granddaughter, Angela Whitman of Denver; grandson, Brand Whitman and wife Sarah of Sterling; grandson, Chris Gross of Sterling; granddaughter, Jennie Gross of Rapid City; granddaughter, Kellie Gross of Rapid City; granddaughter, Christina Baucom of Red Oak, Iowa; granddaughter, Holly Gross of Ames, Iowa; granddaughter, Brittany Gross of Red Oak; granddaughter, Annie Winters and husband Brandon of Sterling; great-grandsons, Bradley Whitman of Sterling, Evan Whitman of Sterling, Derek Baucom of Red Oak, Jordan Winters of Sterling, Nate Winters of Sterling; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Baucom of Red Oak, Natalie Baucom of Red Oak, and Autum Winters of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sons, Wind Gross, Mike Gross and Don Gross.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Julia was a joy to be around and I enjoyed seeing her at the 7-11. Wanda and Wilma, my thoughts are with you.
