Marilyn Lapp, 54, of Sterling, passed away at her home Thursday, April 3, 2014. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, at First Christian Church with Pastor Lew Champ officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Marilyn was born on Sept. 22, 1959, in Sterling to Lowell and Elizabeth (Duncan) Sonnenberg. She attended elementary, middle school, and high school in Fleming with her senior year at Sterling High School. She also got her accounting degree from NJC. She owned S & W Hay Service for almost 17 years. She worked in the cattle and trucking business since her graduation from NJC.
On May 16, 1994, she married Stan Lapp in Sterling. They will be married 20 years in May. She enjoyed racing and fishing, and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Stan; mother, Elizabeth Sonnenberg; brothers, Dean and wife Dena Sonnenberg of Fleming and Greg Sonnenberg of Arvada; sister, Roberta Wellauer of Westminster.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Sonnenberg.
