Sally Schaffer

Sally Ruth Schaffer, 85, of Sterling passed away Thursday, May 14, 2014 in Sterling. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm Sunday, May 18 at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday, May 19 at the Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor David Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Sally was born on March 3, 1929 in Englewood, Colo. to Harley and Lucille (Propst) Beery. She graduated from Sterling High School. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mom that will truly be missed. She was married to Hank Schaffer for 51 years. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Quota Club, Elks Lodge, NJC Foundation, Christian Women's Club, and the Stock Club. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and playing bridge. She is survived by her son Hank Schaffer Jr. of Steamboat Springs; daughters Cindy Blair of Dallas, and Cathy Schaffer of Renton, Washington; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Hank and brother Harley. Memorials may be made to the Northeast Colorado Cancer Resource Center, PO Box 18, Merino, CO 80741.
