William Naugle(1924 - 2014)

William "Bill" Cecil Naugle, 90 of Sterling, passed away Tues., July 1, 2014 in Sterling. Memorial service will be 10:30 am Wed., July 9 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with services concluding at the funeral home. William was born Jan. 23, 1924 in Scottsbluff, NE to Cecil Emmet and Lillian Alice Zuhlke Naugle. The family moved to Sterling where he graduated from Sterling High School in 1942. He then entered the Army Air Corp, serving during WWII. Bill flew several missions in Europe, came back to the states and worked on the planes until his discharge. He owned and operated the Tower Garage and Tower Garage Annex. He was known as "Windy Bill". He was an avid fisherman and hunter. William married Dorothy Elizabeth Mueller on March 13, 1944 at Eagle Pass, Texas. He later married Betty Jean Coslett Brown. William is survived by his wife Betty Jean Naugle of Glendo, WY; daughters Phyllis Ann Bramhall of Tucson, AZ, Billie Jean Lechman and husband Lawrence of Merino, Linda Bauder of Sterling; stepson Glenn Naugle of Glendo, WY; brother David Naugle of Broomfield; sister Betty VanValkenberg and husband Roger of Palisade, CO; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Edwin Albert Naugle and brother Richard Naugle. Contributions may be made to the Sterling Living Center.
