He moved to Greeley where he became the Inn Keeper of the Holiday Inn.
Later, he opened his own meat department in Public Market Grocery and eventually purchased the Butcher Block. Following his time at the Butcher Block, he became employed with King Soopers grocery stores as a specialty meat and seafood manager until his retirement in 2003.
He was a past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Sterling and continued his volunteer activities in Greeley with the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
He enjoyed camping and scouting with his sons and was an assistant cub scout master and assistant Boy Scout master with Longs Peak Council.
Being a sports fan, he would always attend his sons practices and sport events. He especially loved the Colorado Avalanche.
