Darrell Jay Gorbutt, 51, of Fleming, passed away Jan. 28, 2014, in Fleming. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Fleming United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jodie Harless officiating. Interment will be at Fleming Cemetery.
Darrell was born April 2, 1962, in Sterling, to Donald J. and Darlene E. (Acott) Gorbutt. He graduated from Fleming High School in 1981. He continued his education at San Juan Tech College, a mechanic school.
He drove truck for Harms Brothers Trucking from 1984 until 2010, and also did truck repair for the business.
Darrell was a member of Fleming United Methodist Church and the Colorado Snowmobile Association. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and snowmobiling.
Darrell is survived by his mother, Darlene E. Gorbutt of Fleming; sister, Debora L. Brown and husband Randy of Haxtun; aunt, Doris Allen of Nelson, British Columbia, Canada; nephews, Jack D. Smith of Denver, Adam C. Smith and wife Jenny of Craig, Kerry L. Brown of Wichita, Kan.; great-nephew, Kolby J. Smith of Craig.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gorbutt, and grandparents.
