Obituary Condolences

(Edna) Susan Barry was born on Aug. 22, 1914, at Ulysses Neb. She was the third of 4 children born to Alva and Harriett (Robey) Keime. The family moved to a farm south of Ovid when Susan was a young girl. She attended rural school and later graduated from Julesburg High School in 1932.
Susan was married to Wilbur Barry and they moved to Denver where they lived for eight years. They returned to a farm south of Sedgwick in 1944 and lived there until 1958 when they moved into town. Wilbur died in 1978 and Susan moved to Colorado Springs in 1979 to be closer to her daughter. In Colorado Springs, Susan was associated with the Bemis Art School, where she delighted in working with the younger children. In 2009 she moved to Sterling to the Devonshire Acres apartments and in 2011 she moved to the Devonshire Acres nursing care facility. She died at Devonshire on Friday morning, June 6, 2014. She had reached the age of 99 years.
In addition to her husband, Susan was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Clarence Levi Keime; one sister, Iva Kenney; and a granddaughter, Sheri Bazan.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Shirley Barry of Sterling; and her son, Clyde (Shirley) Barry of Venango; three grandchildren, Kathy (Joe) Arias of Greeley, Steve (Theresa) Barry of Ogallala, and David (Jill) Barry of Grant; 11 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends including a special friend, Shirley Bieber of Sterling.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, at the Sedgwick Communtiy Presbyterian Church with Pastor Art Roth officiating. Burial in the Sedgwick Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
