Freda Muth Obituary
Freda Sharlann Muth, 90 of Sterling, met her Heavenly Father on Good Friday, April 18, 2014 in Sterling. Visitation will be Wed., April 23, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thurs., April 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Shawn Wiebers, Rev. Michael Young and Rev. Sean Cole officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. Freda was born July 6, 1923 in Frankfurt, Germany, to Henry and Eva Schott Muth. The family came to the United States when she was three months old. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1941. Freda was a clerk at FW Woolworth Five and Ten Cent Store in Sterling, was a grocery store clerk in Hawthorne, Nevada and worked in an office at the FW Woolworth Five and Dime in San Francisco, CA. She returned to Sterling to care for her mother. Freda was a baby sitter for her nephew Gary and nieces Sharlann "Joni" and Ronalyn "Ronnie" Wiebers. She then worked in housekeeping at Dowis Dorm at NJC. She finished her working years as the housekeeper for the Court House Annex in Sterling. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church Sunday mornings, and Calvary Baptist Church Sunday evenings. She was a former member of Rock Assembly of God Church in Sterling. Freda enjoyed Bible reading, traveling and flower gardening. She was a member of the Senior Citizen Club. She was Aunt Freda to all her family and their friends and her extended Wiebers family. She is survived by sister, Mary J. Wiebers of Sterling; nephews Tom Stanke and wife Gayle, and family of Warr Acres, OK, Gary Wiebers and wife Eugenia of Antlers, OK; nieces, Norma Jean Barnett and late husband Bill, and family of Springfield, MO, Sharlann "Joni" Pomeroy and husband Tom and family of Atwood, CO, Sandy Vitela and husband Sam and family of Childress, TX, Ronalyn "Ronnie" Calazaca Westmoreland and husband Steve and family of Aurora, CO; special great nephew Shawn Wiebers and wife Jennifer and daughter haleigh Beth and son Carter of Ada, OK; special great niece Meagen (Wiebers) Pickens and husband Greg and daughter Aurbree of Bentenville, AR. Also survived by many other great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Eva Muth; sisters, Lydia Brown, Ella Mae and husband Irvin Stanke; four brothers, Carl, August, Henry and Robert; and two sisters Louise and Mary, that died in childhood. Memorial may be made to the Freda Muth Memorial.
