Grace Esther Wagner, 90 of Iliff, passed away Wed., July 20, 2016 in Sterling. Visitation will be 10am until 7pm on Wed., July 27 with family receiving close friends and family from 5pm until 7pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:30am Thurs., July 28 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. James R. Nash officiating. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Grace was born April 13, 1926 to Joseph and Cora Lusetta Skinner Jorritsma at Peetz, CO. She graduated from Peetz High School in 1944 and then attended college at CU in Boulder and Colorado Teachers College in Greeley. She married LaVerne D. Wagner on Nov. 12, 1948 in Sterling, CO. They farmed and ranched in the Procter and Iliff areas. Grace volunteered her time for various community activities and worked at the Cooperative Ministries in Iliff. She served as room mother and on the FFA Mother's Club while her children were in school. Grace enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, word search puzzles and playing cards. Grace was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Grace is survived by daughters Laverna Padilla of Sioux Falls, SD and children Katie Padilla and Kara Padilla; Linda Korf of Greeley, CO and children Karissa Ferrero and husband Kevin and Mackenzie Korf; sons Dennis Wagner and wife Cindy of Iliff and children Kristyn Stromberger, Ryan Wagner and Jared Wagner; Darrin Wagner of Sterling and children Derek Wagner and Alyssa Wagner; two great grandchildren Pacyn Stromberger and Kaiden Ferrero; sister-in-law Mildred Talbott of Iliff; nephew Bob Talbott of Iliff; nieces Donna Haase, Rosalie Lewellen and Joan Timmerman all of Kimball, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LaVerne Wagner in 2012, sons-in-law Del Padilla and David Korf, grandson-in-law Jeff Stromberger, sister Marie Herboldsheimer, brother-in-law Gerald Talbott. Contributions may be made to the Grace E. Wagner Memorial.
