Helen Albrandt Obituary
Helen Mildred Albrandt, 93, of Merino, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on August 14, 2014. She was born on November 5, 1920 in Sterling, Colorado to Alexander Hettinger and Amelia Foos Hettinger. Helen grew up on a farm in Atwood and attended Atwood Schools where she graduated in 1938. She was baptized and confirmed in the Peace Lutheran Church. She married Albert Albrandt of Merino in 1943 at the Trinity Lutheran Church where she and Albert became long time members. Helen and Albert "Fritz" enjoyed going to Polka Dances, traveling, abroad, and taking family vacations in the Colorado mountains. She enjoyed caring for her family on the farm and cattle ranch as well as researching their histories. Family was always a priority for Helen. She and Albert had three sons; Alan, Randy, and Darrell. She often expressed how blessed she was to have such a good life and loving family. Survivors include her sisters: Esther Amen of Brush, Evelyn Held and Frieda Waddle of Arizona; sister-in-law, Marianne Hettinger of Wyoming and brother-in-law Herbert Albrandt of Merino; sons Alan and wife Deb Albrandt and Randal Albrandt all of Arvada; Darrell and wife Paula Albrandt of Merino. She has four grandchildren; Evan and Lance Albrandt of Merino, Whitney Albrandt and Miranda (Albrandt) King, married to Bryce King all of Arvada. Violet King is her great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert, and brother Albert Hettinger. She will be missed, yet lovingly remembered. Visitation will be 1:00pm to 6:00pm Wednesday August 20th at the Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, August 23 at the SterlingTrinityLutheranChurch. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sterling.
