Marge Mansuetti, 91, formerly of Sterling, died Feb. 4, 2014, in Longmont. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m., with Vigil and Rosary following at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Wojciech Gierasimczyk, Mass Celebrant, and Deacon of the Mass, Mr. Ronald A. Michieli.
Marge was born May 20, 1922, to Domenic and Frances (Bianco) DeSoto in Oakland, Calif. She graduated from Iliff High School in 1940.
On Oct. 3, 1942, Marge married Mario Marostica. She worked for the telephone company in Iliff, while Mario served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return, they lived on a farm in Iliff until Mario's death in 1953.
Marge moved to Sterling in 1954 and three years later began working at Security State bank as a bookkeeper. She held various positions in the bank for the next 27 years.
On Jan. 7, 1961, Marge married George Mansuetti at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sterling.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, golfing, watching the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos and in later years, watching her great-grandsons' sporting events. Marge was a member of the Sterling Does, Riverview Ladies Golf Association, and St. Bernadette Circle. After moving to Longmont, she was a member of the Guardian Angels Circle, a "Soup Angel" for Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement (HOPE), and a member of the Breast Cancer Support group.
Marge is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Bingham and husband John of Cheyenne, Wyo., Francene Marostica Simpson of Longmont; grandchildren, Jim Simpson and wife Gretchen of Fort Collins, Mark Bingham and wife Ellen of Thompsons Station, Tenn., and Matthew Bingham of Pensacola, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jackson and Isaak Simpson of Fort Collins and Abigail, Andrew, Alivia and Amelia Bingham of Thompsons Station, Tenn. She is also survived by sisters, Corinne Gerk and Theresa Wilson of Sterling; and brother, Don DeSoto and wife Loretta of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Mario and George; her parents, Frances and Domenic; brother, Ernie; and numerous aunts and uncles.
