Pete Dillie Obituary
Pete Dillie, 44, of Padroni, passed away on March 29, 2013, at University Hospital, from complications of a double lung transplant due to cystic fibrosis. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at the Berean Church.
Pete was born on Feb. 16, 1969, in Sterling to Paul and Jean (Howard) Dillie.
Pete was an avid fisherman and hunter. When he was young he attended Caliche High School, where he was active in football, wrestling, baseball and basketball.
He cherished the times spent with his cousins, family and friends. Pete was loved by all who knew him. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a storyteller filled with wit and enthusiasm as he told of his latest round of golf, fishing or hunting adventures.
After graduation he attended Cheyenne Aero Tech with his brother, Steve Dillie, and brother-in-law, Charles Ashlock. Pete attended Berean Church and loved attending Scott Paxton's bible study. Pete was an amazing taxidermist and enjoyed hearing the hunting and fishing stories of all his customers and friends. Pete was so blessed to have a wonderful group of very supportive family and friends. Pete looked forward to hunting elk in the fall, going to Texas hunting pigs in the spring and then heading to Alaska fishing in the summer. Thank goodness he had family and friends with kids in sports to keep him entertained in the winter, in between hunting waterfowl.
Pete was a great golfer and had a good group of friends who he entered and won many golf tournaments. Pete was such a loving person he loved helping others. He was so talented he was a great backhoe operator and artist. Pete worked at Anheuser Busch. He loved his nieces and nephew.
He is survived by his brother, Steve Dillie and wife Lynda of Lake Dallas, Texas; and his sister, Sharon Ashlock and husband Charles of North Pole, Alaska; nephew, Brandon Dillie; and nieces, Megan Dillie, Katie Joiner, Heidi and Rachel Ashlock, Mikayla Washburn; and faithful significant other, Jenny Nolan, and her daughters, Brittany, Taylor, and Peyton, and granddaughter, Kashlynn; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; wife, Deanna Dillie and sister-in-law, Missy Washburn.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jean Dillie; his grandparents, Pete and Elizabeth Dillie, Eldon and Pearl Howard.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Pete Dillie Memorial Fund at Sterling Credit Union, 822 W. Main Street, Sterling, CO 80751.
