Reinhold Stumpf Obituary
Reinhold "Riney" George Stumpf, 90, of Sterling died Monday, August 25, 2014, at Devonshire Acres. A viewing will be Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 3:00 to 7:00 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home at 443 South 2nd in Sterling. Services will be a Zion United Church of Christ at 10:00 Friday August 29th with Brian Witherspoon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery. Riney was born November 26, 1923 in Paxton, Nebraska, to Philip and Christina Stumpf. He was the youngest of ten children and was the last surviving member of that generation. Riney's greatest love in his life was his wife, Gloria, whom he was married to for over 60 years, and his family. He was an avid fan for all his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He grew up in Crook Colorado, graduating from Crook High School in 1941. He married Gloria Traylor on March 18, 1944. They resided in Sterling for over 60 years. He loved all sports! Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, and anything he could find on TV. He also loved to watch bull riding and rodeos. One of the things he enjoyed most was his Black Angus Cattle. He was a quiet man with a unique sense of humor and had a positive attitude towards life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, parents, and nine siblings. Survivors include daughter Ronna Rice and husband Jim of Greeley, son Gordon Stumpf and wife Pam of Sterling, and daughter Tamra Stumpf-Fowler and husband Roger of Greeley. Grandchildren Mike Rice and special friend Sydney Hageseth, Julie Lordemann and husband Michael, Kris Stumpf all of Greeley; Kay Powell and husband Mark of Littleton; Scott Rice and Holly of Highlands Ranch; Kyle Stumpf and wife Christy, Kory Stumpf and wife Adrian all of Sterling; Joel Stumpf and wife Michille of Beverly Hills, CA; Evan and Sam Fowler of Fort Collins. Great-grandchildren Ashley and Paul Hiller of Denver; Brittney and Caeley Lordemann of Greeley; Hannah, Hadley, and Harper Hageseth of Greeley; Timmi and Alli Keisel, Zane and Titan Stumpf of Sterling; Kenley and Chase Rice of Highlands Ranch; Alexander Stumpf of Beverly Hills, CA; Cameron, Reagan, Morgan and Nolan Powell of Littleton. Riney was loved very much and will be missed by all.
