Robert Donald Littler, 95 of Sterling, passed away Mon, June 9, 2014 in Sterling. Visitation will be Thurs., June 12, from 10am until 4pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Fri., June 13 at 1:30 pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Deacon Ronald Michieli officiating, interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Robert was born June 12, 1918 in Sterling, Co to William R. and Daisy A. Kerr Littler. He married Mildred F. Leckler on June 30, 1938 in Boulder, CO. He had many jobs through his life, making many friends and always working long and hard. He was a ditch rider for North Sterling Reservoir, worked for Shields Produce, was ditch rider for Springdale and Pawnee Ditch Companies, while farming and doing dairy work. He also was a salesperson for Montgomery Ward, caretaker of Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery and was the Water Commissioner for the State of Colorado, District 64 for 20 years. He retired in 1979 and did part time work for Rex Monahan. After retiring, Robert and Millie enjoyed their years traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico in the fifth wheel trailer. Robert is survived by sons R. David Littler and wife Sally of Sterling, Henry R. Littler and wife Kathy of Sterling, Howard B. Littler and wife Patti of Thornton, and daughter Karla Kelly and husband Thomas of Ames, Iowa, four grandsons, four granddaughters, 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, wife Mildred Littler March 16, 2010, brothers Sherman, Charles, Arthur and James and sisters Mary Heft, Helen Howard, Betty Ward and son-in-law Richard Moore.
