Ronald C. Schwartzkopf Obituary

Ronald C. Schwartzkopf, 75, of Julesburg, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at RWMC in Scottsbluff, Neb. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Bigler III officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

Ronald was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Huntley, Wyo., to William and Emma (Heil) Schwartzkopf. Ron attended school in Torrington, Wyo., up to the eighth grade. He spent most of his youth in his dad's pool hall playing the game he loved. Ron loved to fish and camp. He enjoyed building and running his remote control airplanes, boat, and cars.

Ron met and married Elizabeth Worrell on Aug. 3, 1957. To this marriage he had four children.

Ron worked for ZW Mill, Allan Transfer, and Boyer Furniture. After a few years with Boyers, Ron went into business for himself as a repairman for Frigidaire Appliance. In 1969 Ron moved his family to Ogallala where he helped build and later worked for Union 76. Ron later divorced and moved to Sterling, where he met and married Lois Loft on May 23, 1988, in Sterling. Ron worked for Allen Mitchek for several years and retired there. Ron and Lois moved to Julesburg a few years later.

Survivors include wife, Lois Schwartzkopf of Julesburg; daughter, Cindi (Carol) Ward of Chilton, Texas; sons, Mike (Debbie) Schwartzkopf of Lubbock, Texas, Larry (Polly) Schwartzkopf of Oshkosh, Neb.; daughter, Tammy (Dave) Relka of Scottsbluff, Neb.; stepson, John (Laura) Loft of Julesburg; sister, June Herdt of Torrington, Wyo.; twin brothter, Daniel Schwartzkopf of Ogallala, Neb.; brother, Jack Schwartzkopf of Torrington, Wyo.; 11 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his father; mother; sister, Lori Schwartzkopf; brother, Leroy "Bill" Schwartzkopf; and his father and mother-in-law.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald Schwartzkopf Memorial Fund in care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.
