Stanley Williams Obituary
Stanley A. Williams, 79, passed away at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona on June 4, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Sat., August 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Peetz United Methodist Church with Pastor Jodie Harless and Pastor Schatzie Gillming officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Stan was born April 1, 1935 in Sidney, Nebraska to Hugh E. Williams and Lela O. Pearson Williams. He grew up on the family farm west of Peetz, CO and graduated from Peetz High School in 1953. He also attended Northeastern Junior College in 1955 and 1956. Stan worked in construction and a local survey company until he was drafted into the Armed Forces in 1958, serving in Germany. He was discharged in 1960 and went back into the construction field as a builder and consultant. Moving to Denver, CO in the early 1970's, he was instrumental in the development and sales of Winsor Gardens, Heather Ridge and Morning Side, very elite condos in Denver at that time. During this time he met Carol Hadley. They were married in 1976 and later divorced. In 1990 Stan developed his own construction business called Modern Adobe Home. He moved to Flagstaff, AZ to introduce this new concept. One of the homes that he built was for Kristian Papin and they became life time partners. Stan was affiliated with KSC Construction Company until his death. Stan was a man of many talents. He was an inventor, builder, pilot, a great cook and loved to entertain. He and Kris would travel in their motor home spending time with nature. Lake Powell, Ouray, CO and the Farm were some of his favorite places to spend time with family and friends. He was a people person, always ready to lend a helping hand and never met a stranger, leaving his zest for life with everyone. Even though he never had children of his own, he was uncle or grandpa to all children of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Williams and David Williams. Stan is survived by life time partner Kris Papin of Flagstaff, AZ, her daughter Mariel Ramos and husband Conrad and baby Xander of Tucson, AZ; brother H. Rodney Williams and wife Royce of Sterling, CO; sisters-in-law Mona Williams and Anita Williams both of Greeley, CO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials may be made to Peetz United Methodist Church, P.O.Box 219, Peetz, CO 80747 or Faith Works Christian in Missions, P.O.Box 2757, Flagstaff, AZ 86003 Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, Sterling, CO was in charge of arrangements.
