Obituary Condolences

Phyllis Kelley, wife of Glen Kelley, will be remembered at a funeral service on Saturday, May 17 in Sterling. The service will be held at the Chaney-Reager Funeral Home at 10:00 with the viewing 30 minutes prior to the service. Phyllis Pauline Kennedy was born in 1925 in Sheridan, Missouri to Vollie Edgar and Edna Belle Kennedy and after several moves began farming outside of Fleming. The family attended the First Assembly of God Church in Fleming and Phyllis sang in the choir and graduated from Fleming High School in 1942. After dating Glen Edward Kelley from Daily, the couple married in 1944 at the Sterling Presbyterian Church and Glen left to serve in the Navy. When he was discharged, Phyllis and Glen did some farming and then moved to Sterling where Glen worked for the Sterling Advocate. Their daughter Marsha Rae Kelley was born and the family later moved to Greeley in 1955 where Glen worked for the Greeley Tribune. Phyllis worked at the Gas Company, a bank and did in-home retouching for photographers. Another daughter, Beth Anne Kelley was born in Greeley. The couple enjoyed many years in Greeley with friends and visiting family members, and loved square dancing. Six years ago, Glen and Phyllis moved to Arvada, Colorado to live with their daughter and granddaughters. On May 11, 2014 Phyllis passed away at Collier Hospice in Wheatridge. She is remembered for her faith, her spunk and her love for others. Phyllis is survived by her husband Glen, daughter Marsha Robson and husband Greg, granddaughter Jamie Reed and husband Erik, and Kelsea Robson. She is also survived by daughter Beth Kelley and granddaughters Amanda Botos and Alyson Botos. Memorial contributions may be made to the . (www.lungcolorado.org)
