Edith Theresa Peters, 90 of Sterling, passed away Sun., June 8, 2014 in Sterling. Visitation Fri., June 13, from 10am until 7pm with Recitation of the Rosary to follow at 7pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Sat., June 14, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Wojciech Gierasimczyk officiating, interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Edith was born Jan. 15, 1924 in Merino, CO to John and Madline Conti Notario. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1942. In 1956, Edith met a young man by the name of Henry Peters. On March 30, 1957 Hank and Edith were united in marriage. On March 20, 1959, they welcomed into their lives a little girl named Lynn Marie. Edith worked as a phone operator and was a bookkeeper at Key Bank. In the 1970's Edith and husband Hank purchased a liquor store and called it Hank's Liquor. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Sterling Elks Does #213 and American Legion Aux. Edith enjoyed her grandchildren and the many activities they were involved in. She also enjoyed doing crafts and having coffee at McDonald's with her husband and friends. Edith is survived by her daughter Lynn M. Peters Bartlett of Sterling; granddaughter Theresa Bartlett and Clint Crose, and grandson Justin Bartlett of Sterling. She also had one great granddaughter Emmalynn Crose, and longtime friend Doodle Albrandt. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and one brother.
