Karen Dunning Obituary
A lifetime resident of Stoneham, Karen Dunning was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She died peacefully in her sleep on August 22, 2014. Viewing will be Thursday, August 28, from 10 am - 6 pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Friday, August 29, at 2 pm at the Berean Church of Sterling, 12527 County Rd. 37 followed by interment at the Prairie View Cemetery in Stoneham. Karen was born June 29, 1934 in Sterling, Colorado to Bud & Norma Bartram. Siblings are her sister, Sharon Tappy of Stoneham, and brothers Gary Bartram of Loveland and Barry Bartram and sister-in-law, Jan, of Greeley. Karen graduated from Stoneham High School in 1952, attended Southwestern Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas and University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. On June 6, 1954 Karen married John Dunning and they spent 60 wonderful years together on their ranch North of Stoneham. She enjoyed being a homemaker, music teacher, substitute teaching, and helping her husband on the ranch & with his school classroom. Karen was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Stoneham, The Gideons, The Liberty Bible Study Club, Cherry Lot Club, and Royal Neighbors of America. Karen and John were blessed with a loving family of 2 children, 3 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews. Karen is survived by her husband, John Dunning; her children, Noreen McConnell and husband, Craig of Falcon, CO, and Richard Dunning and wife Adrianne of Johnstown, CO; Granddaughter Nicole (McConnell) VanHouten and husband, Clovis of Groves, TX, Chancellor, Quess, Garrison, Brenston, and Quade; Grandson Brandon McConnell and wife Jocelyn of Amarillo, TX, Teixeira and Sierra; Grandson Brolin McConnell and wife Jessica of Falcon, CO, Ava and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents, niece Andrea "Andi" Whitlock, and brother-in-law Clinton Tappy. Please send remembrances to 75473 County Road 100, Stoneham, CO 80754.
