Margaret Kay Klein of Valencia, Calif., formerly of Sterling, passed away Jan. 30, 2013, at the young age of 65. Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Kingdom Hall at 25128 Newhall Ave. in Newhall, Calif.
Our wonderful mother was born June 22, 1947, in Sterling, to Harold Arthur Dick and Esther Alice Walker Dick. She graduated from Sterling High School where she was very proud to be the "I" of the Tiger for the Sterling cheerleading squad. She graduated from Northeastern Junior College in Sterling. She also studied business at the Denver Metro College in Denver, and went on to get her associate's degree in business at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif.
She worked part time doing clerical work and was a classified substitute at the William S. Hart School District in California for more than 20 years.
As a child she loved the farm life and loved water-skiing with her Aunt Lydia and Uncle Charlie at the Sterling Reservoir. She loved gymnastics and having fun with her friends of whom she still kept in touch with. She was a big animal lover and enjoyed riding her horses, Paint and Indian.
On March 19, 1971, she married David Alan Klein, and they shared three wonderful children who meant the world to her. She moved to Aurora with her family and from there journeyed on to California. When we were growing up she would take us all around to Hollywood to see tapings of television shows because she loved the excitement of Hollywood. She was always ready for an adventure.
Mom had a passion for gardening and loved taking pictures of nature's beauty as well as the oceanside along the California coast. She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh and most importantly an enormous heart. She was a humble soul who loved life and her family. She had a carefree spirit and was always fighting for the underdog and was loved by all she knew. She loved to travel around California and enjoyed weekend trips to Pasadena and Santa Barbara and was in the process of completing a book of all of the beautiful sites she loved in California. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family of whom she brought joy to everyday.
She loved chatting on the phone with her sister, Sharon, her mom and her brother, Mark, and keeping up with the family news. She loved Jehovah and loved reading the bible and sharing the truth.
She is survived by her husband, David Klein; her son, Jon Klein; and her daughters, Shelly and Pamela Klein, all of Valencia, Calif.; her sister, Sharon Fitzgerald, her brother-in-law, Patrick Fitzgerald of Orofino, Idaho; her nephews, Brad Fitzgerald, his wife Jennine and their children Sara and Grant of Spokane, Wash., and Mike Fitzgerald, his wife Jeni and their two children Caden and Emma of St. Mary's, Idaho; her brother, Mark Dick; and her mother, Esther Dick of Sterling.
She was the best mother and wife anyone could ask for and was truly the rock of our family. She was our best friend. She was our everything.
