Gene Robert Graham, 81, passed away March 27, 2013, in Lincoln, Neb., due to congestive heart failure. There will be a military graveside service at a future date at the Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln.
Gene was born Aug. 4, 1931, in Big Springs, Neb., to Rex and Effie (Gunderson) Graham. He graudated from Dix Rural High School in 1949. Gene served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
In August 1952, he married Betty Fish. They had a son, Larry, in September 1955.
Gene owned and operated Conoco Gas and Bulk Station in Kimball, Neb., for several years.
In April 1973, he married Lucille (Hergenreter) Unrein.
He reitred from Colorado Department of Transportation as highway maintenance.
He was a member of the American Legion in Dorchester, Neb.
Gene is survived by his son, Larry Graham and wife Roxanne; grandchildren, Paul and Tina Graham, Tara and Mitchel Meyer; and five great-grandchildren, all of Lincoln, Neb. His step-children include Gary and Shirl Unrein, Deb and Gary Lauer of Sterling, Al and Annie Unrein of St. George, Utah, Vicky and Ken Savolt of Yuma; six step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; along with his brother, sisters, several nieces, nephews and friends.
