Rosemary Catherine Armstrong Obituary

Rosemary Armstrong passed away Oct. 1, 2013. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at St Anthony's Catholic Church, Tigard, Ore.

Rosemary was the fourth of five children born to Andrew and Barbara Appelhans in Sterling, where she grew up.

She married Derald Elsworth Armstrong on July 3, 1949. They moved to Tigard in 1972.

Rosemary was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She loved to crochet, bowl and play cards with family and friends, cook, and dote on her grandchildren. She was the host of hundreds of family and holiday gatherings, where everyone loved her rolls, home-made jam and especially her pies. She was an active member of the Sherwood Elks Club and St. Anthony's Church.

She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched and remembered fondly for all the wonderful memories we have of her.

Rosemary is survived by her five children, Linda Armstrong and Tom Lovelace, Michael Armstrong and Gayle Dowis, Patricia Wisdom and husband Mark, Robert Armstrong and Julie McKenzie, Mary Harris and husband Jim; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Derald, in 1977 and also by her sister, Amalia Schiel; brother, John Appelhans.

Thank you to the staff of Avamere in King City, Ore., for their kind and loving care.

Funeral arrangements through Attrell's Sherwood, Ore.

Rest in peace, our beloved mother.
