Ronald Barracliffe Obituary

Ronald H. Barracliffe, 70, of Lancaster, N.H., formerly of Manchester, continued his life journey to meet his savior on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.

He was born Nov. 25, 1942, in Middletown, son of the late Edgar H. Barracliffe and Evelyn (Barracliffe) Tomaszewski. Ron graduated from Manchester High School in 1960, attended Northeast Bible College and multiple other colleges throughout the United States. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Ron's wanderlust took him all over the world from Alaska to Africa, Hawaii to New Zealand, Europe, England, Ireland, and Mexico, he hiked the entire Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine, and enjoyed spending winters in Florida. He wrote "The New Hampshire Insider's Guide," spoke fluent Spanish, and participated in multiple Christian ministries. Ron saw more of the world than most, and never tired of meeting new people or visiting foreign lands. He was the kind of guy who could talk with anyone - and he did! Ron made his home in Lancaster, N.H., for 40 years 'til March 2013, when he moved in with his sister and her husband.

Ron is survived by his loving family: sister, Lynn (Barracliffe) Pemberton-Locke, and her husband, Brian Locke; brother, Richard T. Barracliffe; nieces, Dawn Grant and Sarah Chambers, and her husband, Andrew; and nephew, Ryan Pemberton. He leaves many dear friends with whom he held a special bond in the White River Junction Veterans Adminstration, and Lancaster, N.H.

Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Voluntary Services, Oncology Unit, 215 N. Main St., White River Junction, VT 05009, or charity of one's choice.
