Agnes Pohorylo Obituary

Agnes D. Pohorylo, 93, of the Thompsonville section of Enfield entered into eternal rest Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Parkway Pavilion.

She was born July 13, 1919, in Enfield, the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Kwapien) Pohorylo, and was a lifelong resident of the Enfield community and member of St. Adalbert Church. She was employed by the State of Connecticut before retiring in 1970. Agnes enjoyed riding her bike regularly throughout the community, even after she won a car in the 1970s from the Connecticut Lottery.

Agnes is survived by two brothers, John Pohorylo and his wife, Wanda, of Suffield and Raymond Pohorylo, with whom she made her home; a sister, Jean Campbell of Tucson, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Josephine Niemic, Mary Piorek, Stacia Frigion, Stella Kowal, Stanley, Edward, and Felice Pohorylo, and Frances Burke.

Agnes' family would like to thank the staff at Parkway Pavilion and, especially, Brandy Vlopkloski for her tender loving care.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery. Agnes' family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
