Ingeborg "Inge" (Lorenzen) Guthrie, 92, of Manchester, wife of the late Robert H. Guthrie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Vernon Manor.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1920, in Germany, daughter of the late Carl and Minna Lorenzen. She was raised in Hartford and prior to her retirement Inge was employed with the Travelers Insurance Co. Inge was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester. She was an avid bowler and seamstress and enjoyed preparing meals to entertain family and friends.
Inge is survived by her two nieces, Lynette Waples and Joanne Quak; her two nephews, Charles Eastwood and James Guthrie and all their families; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Guthrie. Other survivors include longtime loving family friends, Holly Lorinser and Dawn Gingras and her family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Karl Lorenzen, and a niece, Carol Lorenzen.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service to begin at 11 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Emanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 60 Church St., Manchester.
