Barbara Seilhammer Obituary

Barbara A. (Parsisson) Seilhammer of Enfield entered into eternal rest at the age of 79 on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., with her loving family at her side.

Barbara was the beloved wife of 60 years (of which a celebration was just held on June 20) to Harry B. Seilhammer. She was born on Oct. 13, 1933, in Northampton, Mass., daughter of the late John and Hilda (Wilcock) Parsisson. Barbara had resided in Enfield for the past 56 years and in Springfield and Northampton prior to that. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Enfield and former member of the AMVETS Post 18 Women's Auxiliary. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and home. Barbara was an avid reader, enjoyed flower gardening and crossword puzzles, and spent many hours crocheting for the church's Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Besides her husband, Harry, she is survived by her children, Alan Seilhammer and wife, Andrea Hubbard, of Lebanon, Pamela Seilhammer and husband, Elton Harvey, of Wethersfield, and Bruce Seilhammer and wife, Lisa, of Duncannon, Pa.; her grandchildren Amanda, Brian, Christopher and his wife, Kelliann, Benjamin, and Ross; and her great grandchildren Kendra, Dylan, and Abigayle; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.

Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Friday, July 12, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 13, at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church of Enfield, 41 Brainard Road, Enfield. (Please meet at Church). Interment will follow in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield.

Memorial donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the church's Prayer Shawl Ministry.
