Joyce Tatoian of Solebury, Pa., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was 71.
Born in Norwood, Mass., to the late Rudolf Danielson and Edith Hood Danielson, Joyce was also a former resident of Somers, where she lived for over 20 years. While residing in Solebury, Pa., since 1989, she still had many friends and loved ones in Connecticut, which she visited often. Joyce was a graduate of Colgate University. Happily retired for the past 16 years, Joyce had a long career as a legal assistant with several law firms in Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Active in the community, Joyce volunteered her time generously, including at the Michener Art Museum of Doylestown, Pa. While she was an avid golfer and bowler, her focus was on her family. Most days, she could be found cheering on her grandchildren during their baseball, softball, and soccer games, "Grammy" was their biggest fan. Joyce was an enthusiastic traveler, most recently traveling to Costa Rica.
Married for 47 years, she was the beloved wife of Phillip E. Tatoian Jr; devoted mother of David P. Tatoian and Michael A. Tatoian; loving grandmother of David C. Tatoian and Jamie L. Tatoian; and mother-in-law of Holly Tatoian and Cortney E. Schaefer.
Joyce's family will receive condolences on Monday, May 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Leaver-Cable Funeral Home, Route 202 and Quarry Road, Buckingham, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Joyce's name to the Diamond Stroke Fund at the Abington Memorial Hospital, the Foundation Office, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
