Florence Carpenter, wife of Bryce K. Carpenter Sr., died on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
She was born in Manchester, daughter of the late Edward F. and Harriet B. Moriarty. Educated in local schools, Florence graduated from the Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing in New London. Dedicated to her profession, Florence worked at Manchester Memorial Hospital for many years and then for Dr. George A.F. Lundberg Jr.
Florence was predeceased by her son Bryce K. Carpenter Jr. in 2013. Besides her husband she leaves her son Dean Carpenter of Manchester, son Craig and daughter-in-law Rikki Carpenter of Tolland, and daughter-in-law Terri Carpenter of East Haddam. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her brother Edward T. Moriarty, formerly of Ellington, and sisters Harriet M. Northrup, formerly of Vernon, and Judith Twible, formerly of Manchester.
There are no calling hours, and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
