Amsel Jr., Jesse O.  
Jesse O. Amsel Jr. passed from this world to the next July 31, 2015. He served in the Navy. He was a member of the Ellington Substance Free Graduation Party since its inception, a member of the Northern Connecticut Land Trust, and served on the Ellington Conservation Commission for 16 years. He was a lifelong Boy Scout and proud father of an Eagle Scout, with service at troop council, OA & Camp Webster. He enjoyed scouting, gardening, cooking, baking, reading, kayaking, traveling, and especially time with his family and friends, most especially his wife, Valerie; and son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Megan Amsel. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Friends of the Webster, CRC/FOW c/o Hoss Haskell, 100 Lake Road, Jewett City, CT 06351, or Northern Connecticut Land Trust, P.O. Audet, Denis G.  
Denis G. Audet, 86, of Enfield, husband of the late Laurence "Laurie" (Lefebvre) Audet (2014), entered into eternal peace Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, with his loving family at his bedside at St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield. One of 11 children, Denis was a son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Boulay) Audet. He was born and raised in the beautiful and rural town of Hyde Park, Vermont. He later moved to Connecticut and resided in West Suffield, Enfield, and East Windsor before moving back to Enfield where he had lived since 1992. Denis had been a farmer for most of his life and enjoyed working outdoors alongside Mother Nature. He was formerly employed at St. Joseph's Residence, where he retired from after 10 years as their custodial manager. Denis loved his family, especially spending time with his children. He also enjoyed puzzles in his free time. He is survived by five children, Joseph Audet and his wife, Deborah, of Broad Brook, Marie Audet, of East Hartford, Lise Audet, of Enfield, Denise Durkee and her husband, John, of Westfield, Massachusetts, and Beatrice Audet, of Manchester; four sisters, Theresa Lorton and Claire Loyer and her husband, Fred, all of Burlington, Vermont, Noella Tillison, and Jeannette Pinos and her husband, Skip, all of Morrisville, Vermont. He also leaves 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Laurie, Denis was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Paul, and Ronald Audet. Calling hours will be held at St. Joseph's Residence, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary prayer service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the St. Joseph's Residence Chapel. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Joseph's Residence Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.
