Phillips, Nancy B.
Nancy B. Phillips, 80, of Stafford Springs, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Johnson Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous battle with various illnesses. She was born in Stafford Springs, daughter of the late Arthur and Marjorie (Cooley) Bren. Nancy was a graduate of Stafford High School, and worked at TYCO, Becker Construction, and Stafford Public Library. She especially loved her time at the library, and took great pride in helping people at the desk and serving those who were homebound. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, music, flowers, nature and watching birds at the feeders, Sunday concerts at the park, riding through the laurel sanctuary, keeping up with the eagles' nests, trips to the thrift shop, and reunion lunches with high school friends. The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers who helped through the past year, those at St. Francis and Johnson Memorial Hospital, and at Evergreen Health Care Center. Nancy is survived by her three children, Susan Phillips, Debra Phillips, and David Phillips; and four grandchildren, Benjamin Phillips-Harrison, and his father, Fred Harrison, Christopher Brouillette, and Zachary and James Phillips. She was predeceased by her son, James Phillips; her former husband, Norman Phillips; and her special friend, Everett Spellman. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home, 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Stafford Springs. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Stafford Public Library, 10 Levinthal Run, Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
