Bruce A. Harding

Bruce A. Harding, 69, of South Windsor, loving husband to Rosemary (Wetjen) Harding, passed away following a short illness Friday, March 28, 2014, in the University of Pittsburgh-Presbyterian Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pa.

Born Nov. 10, 1944, in Hartford, he was a son to the late Lyman and Lynda (Edwards) Harding. He was a respiratory therapist, working at Bristol Hospital for 30 years. Bruce was an avid Red Sox and UConn fan, although his greatest joy, was spending time with his family.

In addition to his devoted wife of 37 years, Rosemary, he is survived by his daughters, Amanda Brier, and her husband, Joshua, of West Hartford, and Sara Simon, and her husband, Daniel, of West Orange, N.J.; grandchildren, Abigail and Elinor Brier, and David and Matthew Simon; brother, Lyman Harding, and his wife, Pamela; and sister, Joan Roberts, and her husband, Curt.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hartford Hospital and the team on Bliss 11 for the care and compassion given to Bruce.

A funeral service for Bruce will be held on Friday, April 4, at 10 a.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, with burial following in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at the funeral home.
