Carol (Aichele) Beecher, age 83, formerly of Bolton and Coventry, loving widow of Frederick Beecher, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at an area convalescent home after a long illness.
Carol was born in Bronx, N.Y., was raised in White Plains, N.Y., and came to Connecticut, residing in South Windsor, Bolton, and Coventry. She was a longtime member of Bolton Congregational Church and was a former volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program.
She is survived by her daughter and three sons, Harriet Behrmann of Manchester, Scott Beecher, and his wife, Sandy, of Windsor, Jeffrey Beecher, and his wife, Pam, of Hampton, Va., and Glenn Beecher, and his wife, Anne, of Vernon; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Behrmann, Daryl Beecher, and his wife, Kristin, Ryan Beecher, and his wife, Kelly, Kyle Beecher, Hilary Enterline, and her husband, Jason, Keith Beecher, and Travis Beecher; one great-grandson, Matthew Enterline; a sister, Susan Johnson, and her husband, Marvin, of Huntington Beach, Calif.;and a brother, Todd Aichele of Jupiter, Fla., and several close friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. at the Bolton Congregational Church, 228 Bolton Center Road, Bolton, with burial to follow in the Bolton Center Cemetery.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, April 2, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester.
