Clifton Carroll Felix

Clifton Carroll Felix, 84, of Somers, beloved husband of Vera (King) Felix, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014.

Born in Plainfield, Vt., on Oct. 7, 1929, son of the late William C. Felix Jr. and Mary Jane (Carroll) Felix, he lived in Somers for many years. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and was employed as a certified public accountant for Coopers & Lybrand, KPMG, and the Travelers Insurance Co., in addition to being employed as an adjunct professor at the University of Hartford for 20 years. Clifton was a Mason with Mount Moriah A.F.&A.M. in Westfield, Mass. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. As hard a working man as he was, Cliff found time to pursue his hobby of restoring antique cars.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and provider to all, he leaves his beloved wife, Vera; and two children, Alane F. Powell, and her husband, Thomas, of Canton and Peter C. Felix, and his wife, Elizabeth Walpole Felix, of Somers; a sister, June Mona who was predeceased by her husband, George, in Vermont; a brother, Robert Felix, and his wife, Patty, in Washington state; six grandchildren, Ted, Kimberly, and Jonathan Powell, and Lawrence, Joseph, and Emma Felix; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers. Burial will follow at Somers Center Cemetery, Somers.

His family will receive friends today, Friday, Jan. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Somers Funeral Home.
