Deborah A. Hills

Deborah A. Hills passed peacefully surrounded by her family Monday, March 24, 2014.

She was born Feb. 24, 1953, in Manchester. Deborah Hills' lineage dates back to William Hills, a passenger on the "Lyon" in 1632. William Hills settled in Hartford in 1634, then moved to East Hartford to become one of its first settlers.

Deb is survived by her three children, Ryan Mumley, Cori (Ottone) Gorcenski and husband, Eric Gorcenski, Shannon Mumley; her three sisters, Deana (Hills) Richard and husband, Peter Richard, Dale (Hills) Paquette, and Donna (Hills) Rabbett; and two loving grandsons and many nieces and nephews.

Debbie passed her creativity, caring heart, sense of humor, and her love of the outdoors to all who knew her. She felt most at home in nature. She loved camping, kayaking, hikes, and swimming in lakes.

Her family will receive friends and relatives for calling hours, Friday, March 28, 2014, at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home in Manchester from 4 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, at St. Bartholomew Church, 45 Ludlow Road, Manchester.

Deb was a volunteer for the Hockanum River Linear Park trails. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Hockanum River Linear Park Committee HRLPC, c/o Manchester Town Hall, 41 Center St., Manchester, CT 06040.
