Dolores "Dee" (DelMastro) Guilmette

Dolores "Dee" (DelMastro) Guilmette, 75, of South Windsor, loving wife of 54 years of Donald J. Guilmette, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, with her caring family by her side after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Hartford on July 1, 1938, a daughter of the late Augustine DelMastro and the late Viola (Coletto) Valorie, she had been a resident of South Windsor for the past 48 years. Dee was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1956. Prior to her retirement in 2003, Dee was the owner of Century Parties on School Street, East Hartford, for 28 years. During her tenure, she helped grow the franchise to a "Top 5 Franchise" in the United States. Dee was an avid reader and excellent cook who enjoyed entertaining and taking trips to local casinos. Most of all Dee was a proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who just adored and loved her grandchildren. One of her biggest enjoyments was planning and taking her family of 10 on an annual summer vacation every year. An eloquent woman, Dee was respected by her family, friends, and co-workers.

Besides her beloved husband, Don, Dee is survived by two sons, Rob Guilmette, and his wife, Christine, of South Windsor, Jason Guilmette, and his wife, Leesa, of South Windsor; four adored grandchildren, Natalie, Nicholas, Luke, and Emily Guilmette all of South Windsor. She also leaves a brother, Michael Del Mastro, and his wife, Karen, of Acworth, Ga.; a special cousin who was like a daughter to Dee, Jo Cleary, and her husband, Scott, of South Glastonbury; several nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and former customers and co-workers.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road, South Windsor. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Thursday morning. Entombment will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomfield.

Relatives and friends may call at the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m.
