Douglas S. Tracy, 58, of Windsor Locks, loving husband of Judith (Zilinskas), passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.
Born in Springfield, the son of the late Arthur and Bernice Tracy, Doug grew up in Enfield and attended local schools. He enjoyed many interests over the years, including camping, road trips, handyman projects, working on cars, and especially his lawn. He was always there to lend a hand, share his knowledge, and offer advice to young and old alike. Doug dedicated many years as a foster parent and had also assisted with Windsor Locks Little League teams. He was a longtime sports fan of the Yankees, the Cowboys, and NASCAR. Doug's strength of character, strong will, and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Judith, he is also survived by his two sons, Damian, and his wife, Rochelle (Rivard), of Enfield and Eric, and his fiancée, Erin Stick, of Windsor Locks; three beloved granddaughters, Samantha, Brianna, and Hannah Tracy; four brothers, David of Minnesota, Gene, and his wife, Carla of Enfield, Glenn of North Carolina, Darryl, and his wife, Lori, of Enfield; two sisters, Ethalynn Daunis, and her husband, Douglas, and Corinne Tracy, all of Enfield; three aunts and an uncle, Shirley Hietala of Enfield, Pete and Ethalyn Jakobowski of Southwick, Mass., and Barbara Provencher of Enfield; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Appreciation is extended to the team at the St. Francis Cancer Center for all their care and support during Doug's courageous battle.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Friday, Dec. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield.
