Elizabeth M. "Betty" Roman, 79, of South Windsor ascended to heaven to be with our Lord on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013.
Born May 15, 1933, at Hartford Hospital, Betty grew up in East Windsor. After high school she moved to New York City, where she worked at the NBC Radio Network as an assistant supervisor. She moved back to Connecticut in the 1970s, where she was very active in politics including the East Windsor Police Commission. Then she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she worked for the Jimmy Dean Corp. Moving back to Connecticut to take care of her mother and other family members, she worked for the State of Connecticut, administrative offices of the Soldiers, Sailors, and Marine Fund, which she enjoyed very much. In her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family, her friends, her two dogs, Trooper and Brandy, and making jewelry.
Betty was predeceased by her father, Anthony Roman; her mother, Helen Wanda; and her brother, Paul Roman. She leaves behind three cousins, Robert Wanda, Michael Dunning, and Leo Wanda.
A funeral Mass will be at St. Catherine Church, Broad Brook, July 6, 2013 at 10 a.m., with burial following in St. Catherine Cemetery.
